Key Takeaways from September 2026
1. Large deals drove the headline number

2. Electric mobility and energy transition stood out
Simple Energy, Amp Energy Transition and Ultraviolette Automotive all appeared among the Top 4 transactions, highlighting strong capital activity around mobility and energy transition during the month.
3. Private capital remained diversified
The largest transactions were spread across mobility, energy, fintech, real estate, healthcare, manufacturing, consumer and other segments. The broader dataset further included AI, aerospace, quantum technology, climate technology, food & beverage and enterprise businesses.
4. Smaller transactions added significant market breadth
The remaining 101 deals generated more than ₹6,000 Cr of recorded value. Although individually smaller than the Top 10, these transactions demonstrate continued activity across different company stages and business categories.
5. The market was active beyond headline funding rounds

Conclusion
September 2026 was a strong month for India’s private market, with 111 recorded transactions amounting to ₹14,209.18 Cr.
The month was dominated by several large-ticket transactions, led by Simple Energy’s ₹1,750 Cr Series C, followed by Amp Energy Transition, Slice and Ultraviolette Automotive. At the same time, the remaining 101 deals contributed more than ₹6,000 Cr, demonstrating that private-market activity extended well beyond the month’s largest transactions.
The 57.7% concentration of deal value in the Top 10 also provides an important perspective on the headline number. While large transactions drove a substantial portion of capital deployment, the breadth of smaller and mid-sized transactions points to continued participation across India’s private-company ecosystem.
For investors, analysts and businesses, September’s data therefore offers two stories: significant capital concentration at the top, alongside broad transaction activity across the wider market.
